  • Submitting your application prior to the "Early Bird Deadline"
  • Posting your YouTube video's link on any Social Media or Blogging sites
  • Take and pass a short quiz about our company, Finally Sold

Requirements Explained in More Depth

Eligibility:

ANY and ALL U.S. Citizens aged 16 and older who are currently enrolled in or have applied to any college, university, or trade school anywhere in the USA on a full or part-time basis (at least 9 credit hours) are eligible to apply for our Impact Maker Scholarship. This is open to both Certificate AND Degree Granting Schools along with both Traditional AND Online Enrollment.

Immediate family members of Finally Sold staff, board of directors, or scholarship selection committee members are not eligible to apply for this scholarship program. An immediate family member is defined as a parent, sibling, child by blood, adoption, or marriage, spouse, grandparent or grandchild.

Basic Submission Requirements:

• Make a short video (around 2 minutes long) that essentially explains why we should pick you and why you feel that you will be able to eventually make a difference in your chosen field of study once you finish your higher education.
• Write a 500-750 word essay further explaining your goals and ambitions of what you want to do in the future and how going to your chosen school will help enable you to manifest and accomplish that future.
• Post the video to your YouTube channel and place the entire essay as the video’s description. If you don’t currently have a YouTube channel, then you will merely need to create one (it’s free).
• Promote our company’s scholarship opportunities by including a live link back to the https://www.finallysold.com/scholarship-programs.html page anywhere within the first sentence of the YouTube video’s description.
• For tracking purposes, the TITLE for the YouTube video MUST include the phrase “Finally Sold’s Impact Maker Scholarship”.

The Video and Essay should touch upon such questions and topics as:

• State your name
• What city and state you currently live in?
• What year of schooling are you applying for (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Masters, Doctorate)?
• What type of degree(s) do you plan to eventually receive?
• What is your chosen field, career, vocation, or major?
• Which semester are you applying for?
• What ambitions do you have for said field, career, vocation, or major?
• Why do you feel that you can make an impact in that chosen arena?
• How will getting this further education personally impact your own situation?
• Why should we pick you?

NOTE: The video doesn’t have to be a visual masterpiece. We don't expect you to be a Steven Spielberg and we don’t want you to have to go out and buy any expensive equipment. Rather, we will reward creativity and innovation in your presentation. As with any video, we hope you take into account decent lighting and sound when shooting it, but we don’t expect you to be a video expert, for that is not what you are being graded on.

Essentially we just want to get to know you and we want you to sell us on the idea that we should pick you. Imagine you are on ABC’s hit TV show Shark Tank and you are asking us to invest in you and your dreams.

THREE WAYS TO EARN EXTRA CREDIT AND BONUS POINTS:

EXTRA CREDIT #1:

The judges will award bonus points to Applicants who demonstrate the ability to PROMOTE themselves and influence others.

For instance, we will award bonus points to resourceful Applicants that then cross promote both our scholarship program and the Applicant’s video across any of the many different SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS such as Twitter, Facebook, Google+, etc. and on any of the various BLOG SITE PLATFORMS such as Blogger, Tumblr, WordPress, Live Journal, Weebly, etc. (the more promotions, the better).

• When it comes to the Social Media and Blog Site promotion of your videos, you will need to:
  • Make sure you use different content on each post. In other words, don't just keep using the same phrasing on each post; mix it up instead.
  • Make sure you link or embed your video’s URL address in the post so that the reader of the post will be able to go to your video and watch it.
• We will also look for signs of engagement on those sites by looking to see how many views, likes, shares, comments, favorites, retweets, etc. that your various posts received.
• Please provide us with any and all links to the social media posts and blog sites so that we can verify their placement.
• Feel free to use creative hash tags like #Scholarship along with the hashtag of #FinallySold in your social media posts.

EXTRA CREDIT #2:

Get some Extra Credit for taking a moment to learn about our company and demonstrate to us how well you can extrapolate information. You can either go to this link and take a short quiz about Finally Sold on-line, or you can download the MS Word document or Google Doc here so that you can fill it out later and submit it with your Email Submission instead. The judges will award 2 bonus points to Applicants who answer at least 15 questions correctly and will award 3 bonus points to Applicants who answer at least 20 questions correctly.

Early Submission BONUS:

Every Applicant that submits their initial application at least 60 days prior to that semester's Submission Deadline Date will automatically receive two extra bonus points.

NOTE: To qualify for the "Early Submission Bonus", you just need to complete the YouTube Basic Submission Requirements portion of it and send us an email referencing it. However, if you need additional time to complete any of the other Extra Credit or Bonuses, you can merely send us a second and final email anytime prior to the regular general Submission Deadline Date to let us know of any additional links associated with the optional extra credit and bonus portion.

Email Submission Process:

Once you have posted your video to YouTube, please email us at Scholarships@FinallySold.com to complete the submission process and provide us a link to your video. If you cross promoted our scholarship program and your video on any social media or blog platforms, then please also give us a list of the links/URL's of those posts so that we can properly credit you for those efforts.

All email submissions MUST also contain the Applicant's full name, age they will be at the award date, email address, postal address, school/institution they are currently enrolled in and/or have applied to, and a phone number to contact. Additionally, if the Applicant will be under the age of 18 as of the award date, please also provide the contact information for the Applicant’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s).

Judging Process:

The winner of each Finally Sold Impact Maker Scholarship will be selected by our internal panel of judges.

You will be graded separately on the contents of the video, the essay, and how well you performed on any of the optional extra credit items.

The selection criteria, in no particular order, will include but is not limited to:

• The Applicant’s originality and creativity
• The Applicant’s thoughtfulness, passion, and ability to express themselves
• The Applicant’s demonstrated potential for success in their chosen field of study
• How compelling the actual video is
• How persuasive and engaging the approximately 500-750 word essay is
• How well did the Applicant promote their video across social media and/or bloggin platforms.
• How well the Applicant followed the rules and guidelines
• The demonstrated passion level of the Applicant to succeed with their studies and what type of an impact can they have in their chosen field

Submission Deadline Dates:

• Fall 2019 Semester regular submission deadline: July 15, 2019
  • (the Early Bird Deadline for Fall 2019 is May 16, 2019)
• Fall 2020 Semester regular submission deadline: July 15, 2020
  • (the Early Bird Deadline for Fall 2019 is May 16, 2020)

Award Dates:

• Finally Sold will select the Fall Semester Winner each year on or around August 5.

Finally Sold will promptly announce the winner on the website pending notification of the student and his or her family. By the time of the award date, winner needs to be able to demonstrate they have at already been accepted to their school of choice and that they have at least initiated the enrollment process. Winner must also respond to us within 2 weeks of our first contact to you informing you of your win, or another winner will be chosen.

General:

Applicants shall NOT call Finally Sold regarding this Scholarship. Rather, all inquiries shall be sent via email only to Scholarships@FinallySold.com instead. Applicant’s submission to the Finally Sold Impact Maker Scholarship Program constitutes Applicant’s consent to use Applicant's name and likeness for editorial, advertising and publicity purposes, without further compensation, except where prohibited. Likewise, we expect you to publicly acknowledge the receipt of this scholarship should you be selected as one of the winners.

By entering and/or by accepting an award, you agree to be bound by these rules and to release Finally Sold and Right Now Capital LLC from any and all liability arising out of your participation in this scholarship program with respect to the awarding, receipt, use and/or misuse of any award. Finally Sold and Right Now Capital LLC reserves the right to adjust the rules as any circumstances arise throughout the Scholarship Program.

Award checks will be made out to the institution that you will be attending. Should extenuating circumstances occur wherein that is not feasible, then please contact us so that we can make other appropriate arrangements.
