Texts=Wrecks Scholarship 2023

Attorneys John Singleton and Ken Gibson

Prevention is the best cure, no matter what you're talking about. Not drinking will decrease your chance of causing a drunk-driving accident by a perfect 100 percent! Putting your phone away and paying attention to the road will save lives and prevent serious injuries...the kind we have to go to court for nearly every week.

At GibsonSingleton Virginia Injury Attorneys, we try to stop accidents before they happen. That's why we launched our "Texts=Wrecks" campaign in 2018 – to save lives. But we need your help!

Our "Text=Wrecks" billboard is displayed on a major thoroughfare in Virginia. We're trying to save lives by preventing accidents

We strongly believe that the next generation is a great one, and that you will be leaders in changing the way America drives. So we want to hear your best ideas – including things you've already tried that have worked – to help yourself, your family members, and your friends drive more safely. For inspiration, check out our previous winners.

We are offering a $1,000 scholarship for one deserving Virginia high school student who will graduate by June 2023, or a college student anywhere in the United States who graduated from a Virginia high school. We strongly believe the next generation is a great one, and we can't wait to see what they plan to do with their lives. The deadline to apply is May 16, 2023, and we will announce our winner on June 6, 2023.

When you go to college, you’re essentially moving from the passenger seat of life into the driver’s seat. Now, you’ll be making your own choices, both good and bad. At GibsonSingleton Virginia Injury Attorneys, we’re passionate about preventing senseless accidents by encouraging people to make good choices—like choosing not to drive distracted, or choosing not to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs! How are you going to take what you’ve learned so far in life to make these types of decisions now that you’re an adult? How will you, or how have you already, encouraged others to make wise choices as well, especially about their driving?
