Scholarships
FVCC is proud to offer students a variety of scholarship opportunities. Scholarships can be based on merit, financial need or other criteria.
Students are encouraged to apply annually for all scholarships for which they qualify.
Institutional (FVCC) Scholarships
FVCC institutional scholarships are now available to view and apply for directly online. By completing the institutional scholarship application, you will be considered for all scholarships for which you qualify.
New students must have applied for admissions to the college before applying for institutional scholarships.
Please make sure you have completed your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the academic year for which you are submitting your scholarship application if you would like to be considered for need-based scholarships.
Applications for Fall 2025 - Spring 2026 scholarships will open on December 16th, 2024, and close on February 15th, 2025. Students must ensure they have a completed and submitted application on file by February 15th, 2025, to be considered for priority scholarship awarding.
FVCC Academic Scholarship
If you are degree-seeking, have earned 30 credits at FVCC, and have a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA, then you may qualify for the FVCC Academic Scholarship. This scholarship will waive your in-district tuition for two semesters and must be used within two years of establishing eligibility.
FVCC Eagle Scholarship
Beginning December 10, Flathead Valley Community College invites eligible students to apply for the FVCC Eagle Scholarship for the following academic year. The application closes March 15.
To be eligible to apply for the FVCC Eagle Scholarship, students must have applied as a new incoming, degree-seeking student for the upcoming fall semester. Running Start students can be eligible if they have earned college credits and will now be a degree-seeking student in the upcoming fall semester.
Students will be awarded based on their most recent cumulative GPA (either high school or college for transfer students), HiSET or GED Scores.
Scholarships are based on the following:

Funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are expended.
Students are required to enroll in at least 6 credits the semesters they are receiving the Eagle Scholarship. The Eagle Scholarship may be renewed for the following year provided students maintain the appropriate cumulative GPA.
Gianforte Trade and Technology Scholarships
Over 200 scholarships are available statewide for Montana residents enrolled in a minimum of six credits in an approved trade or technology program. The fall deadline is September 1; the spring deadline is February 1. To apply, visit Award Montana or download this PDF for more details.
Jarecki Foundation Loan Repayment
Post-graduation loan repayment assistance is available to students who have satisfactorily completed a Vocational Certificate Program (CTS, CAS) or an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree at Flathead Valley Community College. Students may apply to the Jarecki Foundation to repay a student's Federal Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loan upon completion of your program of study. One award will be awarded annually in an amount not to exceed $5,000 paid directly to the student's loan servicer. The value of this award cannot exceed the tuition and fees of the student for Flathead and Lincoln County residents.
Application deadline is July 31st of your graduating academic year (e.g., Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 graduates are graduating in the 2024-2025 academic year, and thus their deadline is July 31st, 2025).
2+2 Honor Scholarship
The 2+2 Honor Scholarship must be used at one of the 4 year campuses in the Montana University System. This is a tuition waiver that will waive your tuition at one of these campuses for the next two years.
Eligibility:
- Has earned an associate's degree with a minimum of 3.4 cumulative GPA;
- Has been enrolled and in attendence at an eligible campus for a minimum of two semesters prior to graduating;
- Has been accepted by an eligible 4-year Montana University System campus;
- Begins utilizing the scholarship in Fall 2024
- Is a Montana resident.
Applying for a 2 + 2 Honor Scholarship is a multi-step process. You must complete each of the following steps and submit the required paperwork by the deadline in order for your application to be considered complete (late or incomplete applications will not be accepted);
- Apply to and be accepted by one of the eligible campuses
- Fill out the FAFSA to demonstrate Financial Need in case of a tie
- Obtain an application online or by visiting the Financial Aid Office of any eligible campus
- Request your final transcript, reflecting cumulative GPA, as early as possible, this must be included with your application;
Application deadline is June 30, 2025
STEM Experience and National Science Foundation Scholarship
Incoming and current Flathead Valley Community College students who have an interest in exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) career paths are encouraged to apply for a prestigious National Science Foundation (NSF) scholarship. Scholars will join their peers in a STEM community that is designed to help guide students through a core set of classes and successfully move toward graduation and transfer. Scholars are awarded need-based scholarships up to $10,000 per year.
Eligibility:
- Interest in exploring STEM programs and plan to transfer after FVCC
- Enrolled as a full or part-time degree-seeking student
- Meet financial qualifications for the scholarship portion of STEM Experience
- Be citizens of the United States, nationals of the United States*, aliens admitted as refugees under section 207 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, or aliens lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence**.
*As defined in section 101(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act
**Please note that Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) individuals are ineligible for support from this solicitation unless they meet the requirements listed in the first sentence of this bullet by the time of application.
Son's of Norway Transfer Scholarship
Flathead Valley members of the Fedraheimen Lodge 4-140 Sons of Norway have, since 1913, carried on the traditions and values brought to this new homeland by their forefathers. The past, present, and future members are committed to assisting in the betterment of their community and believe that investment in promising representatives of the next generation is the best demonstration of that commitment. Therefore, the Sons of Norway are offering a scholarship to support students who have successfully completed a two-year academic program at Flathead Valley Community College and are transferring to an accredited four-year academic or vocational/technical institution.
Application deadline is June 30th of your graduating academic year (e.g., Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 graduates are graduating in the 2024-2025 academic year, and thus their deadline is June 30th, 2025).
C.K. Logue Transfer Scholarship
Flathead Valley Community College offers several scholarships to transferring students each year. You must have graduated from Flathead Valley Community College with your associate's degree, and you must have demonstrated financial need to qualify for the C.K. Logue Transfer Scholarship. Financial need is demonstrated by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov. You must complete the FAFSA for your upcoming academic year (e.g., students who graduate Fall 2024, Spring 2025, or Summer 2025 semester will submit their 25-26 FAFSA) for consideration of your need. This scholarship is primarily awarded based upon your graduating GPA and financial need. If there is a tie between potential candidates, the essay will serve as the tiebreaker.
